Ben Simmons is the newest member of the Philadelphia 76ers, replacing All-Star center Joel Embiid. The 20 year old from Melbourne has already made a name for himself as an elite NBA prospect and now he’s trying to make his mark on basketball fans in Philly.
When will Ben Simmons play? The Philadelphia 76ers point guard has been out with a foot injury since November. There is no timetable for his return, but he is expected to make a comeback in the near future. Read more in detail here: when will ben simmons play.
The Brooklyn Nets’ Ben Simmons has become a punching bag recently. Everyone has an opinion on the former No. 1 overall choice, and the most of them are negative.
Simmons hasn’t played basketball since the beginning of the year. Following a tumultuous breakup with the Philadelphia 76ers, he was moved. He was never a member of the Nets’ roster. Simmons has been referred to as a softie. For collecting money without playing, he’s been labeled a thief.
Jay Williams, an ESPN commentator and former NBA player, has had enough of Simmons’ slams. He said, “I want to see Ben Simmons win.”
Jay Williams confesses that he made a mistake when he piled on Ben Simmons at one point.

Many people have targeted Simmons. During the Nets’ series against the Boston Celtics, former Indiana Pacers great Reggie Miller slammed him, ordering him to “man up.” Simmons was supposed to participate in Game 4 but had to sit out due to a back issue.
“Cmon MAN!!! Out for Game 4 when it was rumored you were going to make your debut. This dude has ZERO competitive [fire],” Miller tweeted. “As small a chance as the Nets have to come back in this series, you still have KD and Kyrie, all you need is to win ONE game and take it from there.. #ManUp”
Stephen A. Smith of ESPN said Simmons was “taking money” in one of his regular outbursts.
Smith remarked last week on First Take, “This man has been out since last June, ain’t done a damn thing.” “I’m still perplexed as to how he damaged his back.
“How the heck could you develop a back problem after not playing since June?” It doesn’t make any sense.”
Williams joined in, but only to a little degree. He made a joke about Simmons’ clothing, then realized he was wrong and promised to “try to be better.”
Jay Williams has gotten his fill of Ben Simmons slams.
No more criticizing Ben Simmons. Leave the negativity alone and let’s rally around him to support his mental fight instead of cutting him down for polarizing statements, clicks & jokes. Let’s be better.. & I am talking to myself as well. No more. Enough. Let’s all be better. pic.twitter.com/oglCV5WLRA

Williams feels Simmons is suffering from mental illness. He feels that now is the time to cease criticizing Simmons. He shared a video on social media on Wednesday.
“No more criticizing Ben Simmons,” he wrote in the caption above his Twitter video. “Leave the negativity alone and let’s rally around him to support his mental fight instead of cutting him down for polarizing statements, clicks & jokes. Let’s be better.. & I am talking to myself as well. No more. Enough. Let’s all be better.”
In the video, the former Chicago Bulls point guard said that he is now only focused on Simmons’ protection.
Williams remarked, “I had some extremely serious chats yesterday.” “After those chats, I’m here to tell you that right now, I’m all about safeguarding Ben Simmons.” I’m sure I’ll get a lot of backlash from many individuals. I’ll be honest with you: I couldn’t care less.
“It’s obvious that something is wrong. I believe it is my responsibility, and our responsibility as a society, to safeguard someone who has publicly stated that they are experiencing mental distress. He is, without a doubt.
“It doesn’t matter whether you want to critique every action or if someone wants to add. I piled on yesterday about what he wears, and I’m prepared to admit that I was wrong, and that I’ll seek to improve by actually attempting to understand how to provide him with the greatest environment in which to be the best version of himself. “I want Ben Simmons to win.”
What does Simmons have planned for the future?

Simmons’s heart has always been questioned. Before he was selected first overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, his ambition was questioned. He has six years in the NBA and has missed two complete seasons. Due to a foot ailment, he did not appear in any games during his debut season.
Will the Nets be able to depend on him next season? Can they put their faith in him?
In terms of basketball, Brooklyn may be the greatest option for Simmons. When it comes to putting the ball in the basket, he’s not very talented. He’s a lousy outside shooter who’s even worse at the free-throw line, where he’s made only 59.7% of his foul throws in his career.
As a 6-foot-11 point guard, Simmons excels at passing the ball. The Nets don’t need him to score in Brooklyn since they have Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, two of the top scorers in the league.
Simmons is a fantastic defender as well. He’s a three-time NBA All-Star and a two-time All-Defensive player.
All he has to do now is get back on the court.
